High-Throughput Screening (HTS) Platform for Discovery of Medications to Treat Alcohol Use Disorder (R43/R44 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) applications from small business concerns (SBCs) in the development of a new, or optimization of an existing, in vivo and/or in vitro high-throughput screening (HTS) platform for use in identifying potential

compounds for treating alcohol use disorder (AUD).

Potential screening platform assays will consist of small vertebrate (excluding rodent) and invertebrate model organisms and human cell- and tissue-based models.

The platform assays must be sensitive to different concentrations of alcohol, as well as treatment effects, such that any changes to the model can be measured accurately and reproducibly and can be used as outcome variables.
