Evaluations to Improve Prevention Interventions Under the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): Amendment 3

PEPFAR is committed to reducing new HIV infections worldwide by implementing evidence-based interventions that address risk at the individual, relationship, and community level.

Adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) ages 15 to 24 years in sub-Saharan Africa are unique with respect to both their

high burden of HIV disease and their extensive array of potential risk factors at the biological, behavioral, interpersonal, social, and structural levels.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement(FOA) is to determine which factor or combination of factors most strongly predicts risk of HIV acquisition among AGYW in a high HIV burden community.

Futurestudies may target other at risk populations in high burden communities or AGYW in other communities.

A FFRDC meets some special long-term research or development need which cannot be met as effectively by an agency's existing in-house or contractor resources.
