Community-Based Organization Outcome Monitoring Projects for PS15-1502 HIV-Positive and High-Risk HIV-Negative Clients

In July 2015, through FOA CDC-RFA-PS15-1502, “Comprehensive High-Impact HIV Prevention Projects for Community-Based Organizations,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded funds to 90 CBOs to implement comprehensive HIV prevention programs to HIV-positive persons

and high-risk HIV negative persons to reduce morbidity, mortality, and related health disparities.

CDC will make competitive awards to 15-18 of the CBOs funded under PS15-1502 to conduct enhanced outcome monitoring of PS15-1502 clients over time under two funding categories:
Category 1- HIV-positive clients and Category 2- high-risk HIV-negative clients.

These outcome monitoring projects will increase understanding of HIV prevention and support services received by PS15-1502 clients, the outcomes of these services, and successes and challenges related to service provision and utilization and as a result improve performance of PS15-1502 CBOs.

Ultimately, this increased understanding will contribute to efforts to reduce HIV infections, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for PS15-1502 clients.

In addition, the grantees will build future capacity to monitor the HIV prevention services they provide to their clients and use the data to inform program planning and implementation.
