The purpose of this amendment is to provide clarification language regarding the submission of proposal abstracts.

See the changes highlighted in yellow in the attached revised DARPA-BAA-11-1 1. Original Synopsis Below.DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of Advanced X-ray Integrated Sources (AXiS) that are compact, energy-tunable, spectrally narrow with small divergence.

TheAXiS program will develop x-ray source technology that will enable phase contrast imaging of low atomic number (low-Z) materials.

The program is planned to have a duration of four (4)years.

Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, engineering, x-ray source components, and integrated sources.

Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.See DARPA-BAA-11-11 document attached.
