by targeting concepts that offer the potential for transformational breakthroughs and step-change benefits in the way energy systems are designed, constructed, and operated.

DOE is seeking financial assistance applications that propose concepts and technologies that will make significant and cost-effective progress toward achieving these step-change benefits for electric generating units and industrial plants that use fossil fuel.
