Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, South Florida/Caribbean CESU

The USGS Southeast Ecological Science Center is offering a funding opportunity for research extending and testing a model of small fish biomass on the Everglades freshwater marsh, GEFISH (Greater Everglades fish model).

This model describes the dynamics of the components of a simple food web:
primary


producer, detritus, invertebrates, invertebrate detritivores, and fish consumers, divided into a several functional groups.
