Alcohol, Decision-Making and Adolescent Brain Development (R21)

Purpose.

This FOA issued by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, National Institutes of Health, encourages Research Project grants (R01) applications from institutions/organizations that propose to study decision-making processes in adolescents as they relate to drinking behavior,


and the role of neural circuitry development in adolescent decision-making and alcohol abuse and dependence.Mechanism of Support.

This FOA will use the NIH Exploratory/Developmental (R21) grant mechanism and runs in parallel with a FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-09-097, that encourages applications under the Research Project Grant (R01) mechanism.Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards.

Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
