$1.3 Million Grant to Combat Opioid Abuse

Towns and cities in Massachusetts will take part in the $1.3 million federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant to battle and suppress drug abuse and overdoses.


The grants will help to implement policies and best practices for the prevention of opioid abuse and reduction of hospital confinements as a result of drug overdoses. The grants were announced at the Impact Quincy Opioid Conference. Opioids are chemical medications that supposedly relieve pain.
