Benedictine University Gets State Grant for Food Scrap Composting
Agency - Department of Commerce and Economic OpportunityBenedictine University's Lisle college campus recently grabbed a $46,000 state grant to kickstart a waste management project expected to convert tons of biodegradable food waste annually from landfills and wastewater.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity awarded the grant, which aims to represent the effect being seen on campus of "Years for the Environment," a three-year effort that has promoted and supported sustainability in Benedictine’s curriculum.
