Downtown Revitalization for the City of Kearney

Agency - Nebraska Department of Economic Development

The City of Kearney has received a state grant in the amount $350,000 from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. The grant will be used for downtown revitalization.

Part of the money will pay for new streetlights on Central Avenue from 22nd Street north to 25th Street. Some nearby side streets also will get new lights. As for landscaping, the configuration of in-ground planters will be changed to allow more space on sidewalks for activities. The grant will also allow for one or more downtown parking lots to be plumbed for water and wired for electricity.
