Frederick County Mails $200,000 State Grant to Maryland

Frederick County returned a $200,000 check to the state of Maryland to sell Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center and Montevue Assisted Living without state permission.


The proposed sale was brought attention to the Maryland Board of Public Works because the state contributed about $200,000 to build the county-owned centers. County commissioners voted on the check, with Commissioner David Gray opposing the grant repayment. Gray was overruled by other four board members.
