Norwalk Online Book Seller Receives $400,000 State Grant for Expansion

The Norwalk-based full service online bookstore, Akademos, Inc., has been provided $400,000 in grants to expand its operations and recruit seven additional staff.


The funding comes from the Department of Economic and Community Development which will supply a $100,000 grant and 10-year $300,000 loan at 2 percent interest. The funding will enable the store to bring new software services to their customers as well as raise faculty awareness and student access to affordable educational resources.
