Santa Barbara County Sheriff Tps Into $40 Million State Grant for New Jail

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown is looking at a $40 million state grant to support construction efforts for the new north branch county jail.


A portion of the grant would be used to build transitional housing units at the new jail site. According to the department's representative, Kelly Hoover, the transitional housing units aim to be a step-down facility to prepare inmates for re-enter.
