State Grant Helps Achieve Advancement for Hispanic Charter School
Agency - Illinois LegislatureThe United Neighborhood Organization (UNO) was awarded a $98 million school-construction grant to build schools and improve education for Hispanics living in America.
The state grant helped in funding UNO's charter school operations. UNO's single school has flourished into 13 public schools that serve more than a thousand students in recent years. UNO has also encouraged Hispanic professionals in going for leadership roles in their respective communities.
