State Grant to Redeem Purchase Cost of Simsbury Open Space

Agency - Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection

A grant of $691,666 will cover the cost of purchasing 45 acres of open space from Ethel Walker School.


The purchase cost go towards $2 million, however the purchase is part of a larger deal. Simsbury cinched the deal to acquire a total of about 420 acres of land for $13.9 million. The town plans to buy off the second half of the 90 acres in the next year.
