Sturkie Fire Department Receives $12,000 Grant

The Sturkie Volunteer Fire Department lands its share of the $12,000 Arkansas Rural Protection Grant to purchase fire department equipment.


The grant is a fraction of the $152,741 presented by Governor Mike Beebe and Department of Rural Services Director John Andrews to 16 rural communities chosen for funding. The grant was presented at an awards ceremony held at the State Capitol.
