Medical Programs

To develop, promote, and determine physical/medical qualifications for commercial drivers and medical examiners in support of safety program goals, priorities and initiatives; provide technical expertise and advice in the development and deployment of medical/physical qualification standards, including

Audits

In accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular No. A-133 (Revised, June 27, 2003), "Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations," nonfederal entities that expend financial assistance of $500,000 or more in Federal awards will have a single or a program-specific audit conducted for that year. Nonfederal entities that expend less than $500,000 a year in Federal awards are exempt from Federal audit requirements for that year, except as noted in Circular No. A-133. Audits will be in accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular A-133, including institutions of higher education and other non-profit institutions receiving federal awards; 48 CFR Part 31 (Federal Acquisition Regulations) for "for-profit" organizations other than hospitals or other organizations named in 2 CFR Part 230; and commercial organizations shall be audited in accordance with OMB Circular A-133.

Financial and programmatic records, supporting documents, statistical records, and other records of grantees or sub-grantees generally should be retained by all parties for three years. If any litigation, claim, negotiations, audit or other action involving the record has been started before the expiration of the three year period, the records must be retained until completion of the action and resolution of all issues, or until the end of the regular three year period, whichever is later.
