Citizen Services for Inclusive Governance in Niger

Recognizing the pivotal role of young people in shaping a democratic future, this funding opportunity aims to engage them not only as beneficiaries but as key drivers of change.

The program will equip them with the skills and platforms needed to effectively contribute to public policy, advocate


for community needs, and participate in governance systems.

Through a series of targeted citizen service initiatives, participants will gain practical experience and leadership skills, enhancing their ability to foster sustainable community development and influence governance structures.

The overarching goal of this initiative is to cultivate a robust civic environment where Nigeriens are informed, engaged, and capable of employing innovative solutions to enhance governance.

By supporting projects that build capacity, facilitate open dialogue, and encourage the active participation of diverse community segments, U. S. Embassy Niamey aims to strengthen the foundations of democratic governance and create enduring impacts that benefit all Nigeriens.

In addition to developing individual capacity building, this program seeks to strengthen networks among youth, community leaders, local governments, and civil society organizations to build collaborative, transparent, and accountable governance models.

Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one, non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award.

When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.• Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization.

If more than one proposal is submitted from an organization, all proposals from that institution will be considered ineligible for funding.• Proposals and all related documentations should be submitted in English.
