Cooperative Agreement for CESU-affiliated Partner with North Atlantic Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in understanding interactions between tick-borne pathogens, microbiome, and the environment, which will:
1) use shotgun metatranscriptomic and other omics analyses to evaluate the interactions among all members of tick microbiota from multiple domains (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, viruses) with tick-borne pathogens, and 2) conduct field-based comparative studies addressing effects of environmental factors and potential hosts on microbiome composition and tick-borne pathogen prevalence.

This financial assistance opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. CESU’s are partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of a North Atlantic Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program.
