The Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act) (P.L.

114-94 - December 4, 2015), authorizes and provides funding for PHMSA's Community Safety Grant Program.

This competitive grant opportunity is requesting applications from nonprofit organizations for (1) conducting

credit: Extension


national outreach and training programs to assist communities in preparing for and responding to accidents and incidents involving the transportation of hazardous materials, including Class 3 flammable liquids by rail; and (2) training state and local personnel responsible for enforcing the safe transportation of hazardous materials, including Class 3 flammable liquids.

S. Territory or Possession; Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply.

Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U. S. Organizations are not eligible to apply.
