Supporting Civic Engagement and National Dialogue through Independent Palestinian Media

The Office of the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) seeks proposals to:
encourage greater civic engagement; create a culture of tolerance and respect for diversity; and, promote a vibrant and inclusive national dialogue around issues important to Palestinian society, particularly youth,

through the strengthening of free and independent media.

A strong, independent media and effective and inclusive political processes go hand in hand and are critical for any society.

This call is consistent with the United States' goal of supporting participatory societies where citizens play active roles in making decisions that affect their lives and in holding their governments accountable.
