Conservation Works

The purpose of the USAID Conservation Works (CW) activity is to conserve threatened and endangered species, especially western chimpanzees, by strengthening Protected Areas (PA) and helping communities be less reliant on protected resources for their livelihoods.

The goal of the CW activity will

be to conserve biodiversity while increasing sustainable economic growth and it is expected to be achieved by 1) strengthening protection and management for existing PAs and Proposed Protected Areas (PPA) landscapes and 2) increasing sustainable economic growth in targeted PPA and PA landscapes.

The majority of the CW efforts will be focused on targeted landscapes within Liberia.
