Cooperative Agreement for CESU-affiliated Partner with Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research into the potential role of the electron transport system (ETS) assay to serve as a physiological proxy to assess thermal tolerance in freshwater fish species.

In addition, although physiological or performance-based traits

that confer differing susceptibility to thermal stress among species are of fundamental interest, data for variation in such metrics across species ranges are lacking, particularly for species whose distributions span several degrees of latitude.
