BOEM FY 2020 Environmental Studies Program

The Environmental Studies Program (ESP) of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is offering a cooperative agreement to complete studies focusing on addressing data gaps in sea turtle hearing sensitivity.

The mission of BOEM is to manage the exploration and development of the nation¿s

credit:


offshore resources in a way that appropriately balances economic development, energy independence and environmental protection through oil and gas leases, renewable energy, and minerals development.

The outcome of this study would lead to an understanding of hearing sensitivity and acoustic ecology of sea turtles for accurate impact assessments of the sounds produced by BOEM-authorized projects in the development of conventional and renewable energy.
