Fellowships Open Book Program

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities, in partnership with the NEH Division of Research Programs and Division of Education Programs, is accepting applications for the Fellowships Open Book Program.

This limited competition awards publishers a $6,600 grant


to release open access digital editions of books whose underlying research was funded by an eligible NEH fellowship or grant.

Program Description for a complete list of eligible programs.) Publishers must release e-books under a Creative Commons license, making those books free for anyone to download.

The book could be a forthcoming title (to be open access upon first release) or it could be a book that was published, reissued, or printed in a new edition during or after calendar year 201 0.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligibility is limited to publishers who have published during or after calendar year 2010 a book whose research was supported by one of the NEH programs listed under Allowable Books.

Publishers must be U. S. nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or accredited public or 501(c)(3) institutions of higher education.
