The Military Health System Research (MHSR) Initiative, provides grants/agreements for topic areas directed by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (OASD (HA)) and the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
The intent of this initiative is to foster research capability and
credit:
capacity within the Military Health System (MHS) that supports the MHS transition to an integrated health system focused on the Quadruple Aim:
improved health readiness, better health, better care, and lower cost. The MHSR seeks studies on factors that affect the access, economics/cost, quality, variation and outcomes of military health care delivery.
This includes how policies, social factors, financing systems, organizational structures and processes, health technologies, and behaviors influence the military health care delivery to DoD beneficiaries – i.e., individual service members, families, communities, and populations. The goal is to identify and further characterize the factors that influence the efficiency and effectiveness of care delivery.
Knowledge obtained from this research supports evidence-based policy and decision-making at the strategic and front-line levels.
