Media Integrity and Resilience in Armenia Activity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the Media Integrity and Resilience in Armenia Activity. The Media Integrity and Resilience in Armenia Activity is a five-year activity that aims to strengthen

the integrity of the information space in Armenia.

The activity will enhance the professional and organizational capacity of media outlets to strengthen their editorial independence and increase their reach and impact across Armenian society through quality content.

This Activity will provide catalytic support to improve the financial viability of editorially independent media and help institutionalize a funding source for public interest media.

While addressing fundamental challenges in Armenia’s legal and regulatory framework for the operation of independent media, the activity will advance media literacy efforts to empower citizens and civic and political leaders to consume and engage with information critically and understand the role of ethical media in holding the government accountable.

This Activity is expected to lead to an environment where the media has greater capacity to fulfill its watchdog role over the government, and the space for informed dialogue is expanded.
