The overall objective of the Health System Strengthening (HSS) flagship is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the health system by strengthening the local institutional architecture within the financing, information, and health workforce functions of the system to be more accountable and


responsive on a routine basis, as well as resilient in times of shock; and establish integrated care models and pathways for vertical, and other priority programs to provide equitable access to quality, affordable, essential health services to sustain gains and improvements in health outcomes.
