The Yavapai Apache Nation (YAN) is uniquely qualified to complete this project because it has a direct impact on the negotiations to settle their water rights claims in the Gila River General Stream Adjudication.
Additionally, the work to be completed is a continuation of work previously funded
through the Bureau of Reclamation Agreement number R16AP00056 titled “YAN Reclaimed Water Resource Study.” Phase II will continue “next step” efforts to perform the technical work necessary to confirm the viability of the Sedona reclaimed water management alternative.
This alternative provides the greatest value from both a capital return on investment and available reclaimed water standpoint and would provide a net benefit to the Verde River as a component of a negotiated water rights settlement for YAN.
