Strategic Planning: Southeast Asia

To date, CDC has launched four regional platforms:
South America, based in Brasilia, Brazil; Eastern Europe/Central Asia, based in Tbilisi, Georgia; Middle East/North Africa, based in Muscat, Oman, and Southeast Asia, based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

This NOFO is specific to the Southeast Asia Region


and includes the following countries:
Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The goal of this NOFO is to support the mission and goals of CDC’s global health regionalization strategy in addition to global health security priorities in the case of a public health emergency.

Component A—Strategic and other planning meetings:
Activities will include the planning, coordinating, and convening of annual strategic and other planning meetings to address public health priorities and capacity building for the region.

Public health stakeholders in the region will communicate, coordinate, and collaborate to address regional health priorities.

Component B—Emergency response:
Activities will support unanticipated public health emergencies as they arise in the region.

The activities will address the immediate needs of a given emergency and will be focused on acute public health needs and crisis mitigation.

Applicants may apply for Component A, Component B, or Components A and B.

Component A will have a single recipient.

Component B Applications will be Approved but Unfunded (ABU) until such a time as the resources and services of a particular recipient is required.

If applying as a bona fide agent of a state or local government, a legal, binding agreement from the state or local government as documentation of the status is required.
