CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $1,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.This NOFO aims to provide reliable and timely data for monitoring progress towards ending HIV as a public health threat, to impact
HIV and TB programs and to inform program planning in South Africa.
This award will provide accurate, timely, and high-quality strategic information to enable the South African government (SAG) to monitor and track the epidemic along with evaluating interventions targeting HIV-affected populations.
The information will also guide HIV-related policies, interventions, and programs.
The activities will improve the capacity of the SAG to collect and use high quality data to inform program and health systems planning.
These activities will also provide evidence for the adaptation and implementation of health policies, and interventions to reduce the burden of the HIV and TB epidemics.
The recipient will utilize current approaches:
•To maintain the surveillance of HIV infection and behavior in South Africa, and to obtain a better understanding of the factors driving the HIV epidemic; •To collect data to evaluate the South African National HIV, AIDS and STI Strategic Plan (2023-2028) (NSP); •To collect data to monitor the HIV indicators and highlight progress towards ending HIV as a public health threat.
