Supporting the Adoption of Mercury-Free Processing in Africa’s Sahel

The U. S. Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES) announces an open competition for programming to support the adoption of mercury-Free processing technologies in Africa’s Sahel, focusing on Cote d’Ivoire.

the implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury by reducing mercury usage in artisanal and small-scale gold mining in Cote d’Ivoire.

This programming will include developing mine site plans that will facilitate the application of interventions tailored to facilitating miners’ access to the formal financial sector and mercury-free gold processing technologies.
