This is an announcement for issuing a single source financial assistance grant award to Birdlife International, Quito, Ecaudor.

This announcement is for notification purposes only.

This intent of the award is to Shorebird Harvest along the Atlantic Flyway..

The award is issued


to provide financial assistance:
Understand shorebird harvest policies, determine harvest sustainability, and provide mitigation measures for shorebird hunting among the jurisdictions of the Caribbean Sea and northern South America.

This project represents a continuation of work on shorebird conservation on Barbado and elsewhere in the Caribbean, and Woodbourne Shorebird Refuge.

The funds under this award will be used to support caretaker to perform maintenance work and for equipment rental to manage water levels and improve shorebird feeding areas.

Besides maintaining no-shooting reserves on Barbados, will assess shooting swamps compliance to the recommendation made by the Barbados Wildflowers Association.

Will continue to track policy changes throughout the region, and based on the policy assessment completed in the 201 3. Identify jurisdictions that should be targeted for increased collaboration and more complete harvest assessments.
