THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE.

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to the Kentucky Waterways Alliance for the purpose of determining the status and distribution

of the Kentucky creekshell mussel and to clarify its taxonomy through genetic analysis.

A second study will focus on the life history and ecology of the Big Sandy Crayfish and Guyandotte Crayfish in Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Biological information is incomplete or lacking for both species and is needed to guide recovery efforts and inform consultation decisions under the Endangered Species Act.
