U. S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) Program is offering a funding opportunity for research on imagery-based methods to measure surface water elevation, or stage.

Recent advancements in stage sensing have embraced coupling passive remote sensors


with edge detection filters and machine learning algorithms to make the development of an imagery-based monitoring system effectively feasible.
