The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in understanding interactions between tick-borne pathogens, microbiome, and the environment, which will:
1) use shotgun metatranscriptomic and other omics analyses to evaluate the interactions among all members of tick microbiota
credit:
from multiple domains (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, viruses) with tick-borne pathogens, and 2) conduct field-based comparative studies addressing effects of environmental factors and potential hosts on microbiome composition and tick-borne pathogen prevalence.
