The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Educational Partnership Program is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2017 for Grants to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) for Military-Connected Academic and Support Programs (MCASP).
To advance to new levels of excellence, DoDEA’s
credit:
top priority for all military-connected students is College and Career Readiness.
DoDEA is committed to ensuring that all military-connected students have access to academic standards that progressively build the conceptual and procedural understanding and application of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions essential for students to successfully meet the high demands of today’s colleges, careers, and citizenship responsibilities.
Through the MCASP, DoDEA collaborates with military-connected LEAs to ensure that students receive the level of preparation required in order to successfully transition to a postsecondary institution offering a degree or certification program or in a career pathway where one can achieve a sustaining career.
The DoDEA Educational Partnership and Resources Branch, which executes the MCASP, provides resources to military-connected school districts to allow for the expansion of existing programs.
Additionally, the DoDEA Educational Partnership funds innovative solutions to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of the highly mobile military-connected students in their community.
The MCASP specifically provides resources to military-connected LEAs to develop and implement projects that are designed to:
• Increase academic performance based on College and Career Ready outcomes, • Support social-emotional needs of military connected students, • Enhance and integrate technology through instruction and student work; and, • Promote advanced placement and expanded learning opportunities.
DoDEA’s partnerships with LEAs are intended to meet the needs of the 1. 2 million children from military families who are enrolled in public schools throughout the United States.
