State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Grants

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a national program that offers one-on-one assistance, counseling, and education to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to help them make informed decisions about their care and benefits.

The funds awarded through this application

credit:


are for a five year project period running April 1, 2025 through March 31, 203 0. Eligible applicants include State Offices of Insurance, the State Medicaid Offices, or the State Departments on Aging as designated by the state or territory, who demonstrate their ability and commitment to providing SHIP services statewide.

All awards will be subject to the availability of federal funds and have a project period of up to five years.

One SHIP grant will be awarded to cover each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U. S. Virgin Islands.

Eligibility for this funding announcement is limited by statute.

Eligible applicants include State Units on Aging (SUA), State Departments of Insurance (DOI), or the State Medicaid Agency, as directed by the state Governor.

With this Funding Announcement ACL plans to fund one project in each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U. S. Virgin Islands.

Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
