NOTICE OF INTENT TO FUND WITHOUT COMPETITION - Centennial Youth Maritime Explorers - PEVI

NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS - NOTICE OF INTENT TO FUND WITHOUT COMPETITION Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial is working collaborative with the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of engaging youth in a Centennial Youth Maritime Explorers Program.

The program will


be launched in June 2016 and be repeated in 2017 in conjunction with the U. S. Brig Niagara visit.

A total of 300 youth will participate in a full-day hands-on camp each year.

Students will be selected from underrepresented and underserved populations in the greater Toledo, Sandusky, and Detroit metropolitan areas.

Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial staff will work collaboratively with the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce Maritime Celebration planning committee to plan, organize, and execute the Centennial Youth Maritime Explorers program.

River Raisin National Battlefield Park will participate as well contributing to the overall experience.

The day camp will include a variety of learning stations about the park, maritime history, water safety, and the importance of protection of the environment and cultural resources.
