National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) for the purpose of sharing their knowledge, skills, and resources to promote the purposes of the National Historic Preservation Act.

1. In coordination and consultation with the HABS historian project leader, visit each


site and take the large-format photographs, including producing identifications that can be used to produce an Index to Photographs.

2. Develop and process all films taken of the sites to produce negatives.

3. Scan the negatives to produce “contact” prints on archival card stock.

4. Produce an Index to Photographs for each site, and prepare for transmittal to the Library of Congress the prints, negatives and associated materials.

5. Provide the documentation or drafts thereof for review by the historian project leader and incorporate and/or make any necessary changes to the documentation.

6. The above work will all be executed to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and the Guidelines as outlined for HABS/HAER/HALS photographic documentation and for the preparation of transmittals to the LoC.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
