The OVW Grants to Tribal Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalitions Program (Tribal Coalitions Program (CFDA 1 6. 557) is authorized by 34 U.S.C.
§ 10441(d) and 12511(d).
This grant program supports the development and operation of nonprofit, nongovernmental tribal domestic violence
credit:
and sexual assault coalitions, with each recognized coalition receiving an equal amount of base funding and sexual assault and dual coalitions receiving an additional amount for sexual assault-focused activities.

What’s New About this OVW Program The VAWA Technical Amendments Act of 2022 amended the definition of "tribal coalition" (34 U.S.C.
§ 12291(a)(42)) and the authorizing language for the Tribal Coalitions Program (34 U.S.C.
§ 10441(d)) to include certain organizations addressing domestic violence and sexual assault against Native Hawaiian women through services to Native Hawaiian communities.
