OVW Fiscal Year 2024 Healing and Response Teams Special Initiative

The Healing and Response Teams Special Initiative (Assistance Listing # 1 6. 029) was created in response to recommendations made by the Not Invisible Act Commission (NIAC).

This special initiative will support the creation, training, and sustainability of Healing and Response Teams (HRT) using

credit:


a Tribal-based model of care to respond to Missing or Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) cases related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking.

Within the first nine (9) months of the project, in coordination with OVW, the recipient will identify, make subawards to, and collaborate with three subrecipients acting as pilot sites.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible applicants for the Healing and Response Teams Special Initiative are national, Tribal, statewide, or other nonprofit organizations.

Eligible applicants must have the capacity to provide Tribal specific training and technical assistance (TTA) on a national level.

In rare circumstances, OVW may support institutions of higher education; state, local, or Tribal governments; governmental agencies; or local non-profit organizations.

However, in such circumstances, those entities must describe in detail their demonstrated history of providing TTA and include justification in the application that they have delivered Tribal specific TTA to a national audience.
