Strategic Trade Control Legislation Development Assistance - Central Asia

The Office of Export Control Cooperation, Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, U. S. Department of State (ISN/ECC) manages the U. S. Government's Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program.

EXBS is designed to stem proliferation of weapons of mass destruction

and their delivery systems, as well as irresponsible transfers of conventional weapons, by assisting countries with establishing effective strategic trade and border control systems meeting international standards.

A core EXBS initiative is training foreign government officials in internationally-accepted export control policies, processes, and methodologies.

To further EXBS' global mission, ISN/ECC has identified a need to assist the Governments of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan with revising existing strategic trade control laws and implementing regulations to conform to accepted international standards and adhere to all relevant nonproliferation regimes.
