Reimbursement of Travel and Subsistence Expenses for Living Organ Donation

The purpose of the Reimbursement of Travel and Subsistence Expenses toward Living Organ Donation Program is to establish a national program to provide reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses and additional incidental expenses authorized by the Secretary to individuals making living donations

As a condition of award, the awarding applicant shall agree not to use funds under this Program to make payment to living donors for these expenses when payment has been made or can reasonably be expected to be made by the recipient of the organ, under a State or Federal program or an insurance policy, or by an entity that provides health services on a prepaid basis.
