School-Based Health Center Capital (SBHCC) Program

This notice solicits applications for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) School-Based Health Center Capital (SBHCC) Program, authorized by 42 USC 280h- 4. This notice of funding opportunity details the eligibility requirements, review criteria, and awarding factors for organizations

seeking a SBHCC award in fiscal year (FY) 201 9. FY 2019 SBHCC awards will increase access to mental health, substance abuse, and childhood obesity-related services in operational school-based health centers (SBHCs), by funding minor alteration/renovation (A/R) projects and/or purchase of moveable equipment, including telehealth equipment.

Applicants must demonstrate how their proposal will support the provision of effective, efficient, quality health care, and lead to improvements in access to mental health, substance abuse, and childhood obesity-related services at the SBHC site(s).

Additional Information of Eligibility:
For the purposes of this funding opportunity, eligible applicants must: • Be a SBHC10 or a sponsoring facility11 of a SBHC applying on behalf of a SBHC.

A SBHC: (i) Is located in or near a school facility of a school district or board, or a school facility of an Indian tribe or tribal organization; (ii) Is organized through school, community, and health provider relationships; (iii) Is administered by a sponsoring facility; (iv) Through health professionals, provides primary health services to children in accordance with State and local law, including laws relating to licensure and certification; and (v) Satisfies such other requirements as a State may establish for the operation of such a clinic.
