Combatting Corruption in the Asia-Pacific Region

This award will allow for activities that would promote more effective implementation by governments of international anticorruption commitments and initiatives.

Such activities may include providing expertise at regional anticorruption bodies, including the APEC Anticorruption Task Force, in

credit:


order to strengthen anticorruption standards.

Additional activities may include the provision of targeted technical assistance and capacity building training to select domestic anticorruption bodies and law enforcement officials to enhance their ability to implement domestic, regional, and international anticorruption commitments.

These domestic activities may be complemented by regional capacity building activities, allowing officials to share best practices and strengthen regional engagement.

The program will also assist civil society organizations from the region in promoting better public sector transparency and accountability through initiatives that could include increased engagement and cooperation with governments, as well as stronger government oversight.
