BLM OR/WA: Rural Fire Assistance - Ready Reserve Program

The Ready Reserve program provides funding to support wildland firefighter training for non-federal cooperators to improve the capacity and capabilities of rural and volunteer fire departments (RFDs) that protect rural communities and play a substantial cooperative role in the suppression of wildland

fires within, or in the vicinity of lands managed by the DOI.

During spring 2010, several wildland fire partner agencies submitted proposals to implement training programs aimed at rural and volunteer wildland firefighters.

Successful applicants have been notified and are now invited to submit formal applications for funding.
