BLM-MT, Carbon and Stillwater County Community Assistance for Hazardous Fuels Projects

Background:
The Community Assistance program was established to develop the local capability at a county level that will promote a community-wide wildfire protection plan.

Objectives:
To promote programs that will be used to develop local capability in Carbon and Stillwater Counties.

These

credit:


programs include but not limited to; wildfire planning, wildfire mitigation actions and wildland fire education/prevention.

To promote community-wide wildfire protection planning; conduct education programs about wildfire; and implement hazardous fuels reduction activities and related monitoring, on federal land, or on adjacent non-federal land that reduce the wildfire risk to communities and benefit resources on federal land.

To promote Fire Adapted Communities.

Public Benefit:
To reduce the risk and consequences of wildfire, both in and around communities in wildland areas.

To expand the capacity for local communities to help themselves and enhance the economic stability of rural communities.
