Avian Knowledge Network – Collaboration with MWR Inventory

This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications.

This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition.

The purpose of this project is to have Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory

and Point Blue develop data entry/edit tools for citizen scientists; develop tools/code to estimate bird community dynamics and trend analyses; and provide bulk uploading of existing I&M Network bird monitoring data into the Avian Knowledge Network.

The public and Park visitors will benefit by gaining the opportunity to better understand the complex nature of the avian communities in the Network parks, gain an appreciation for the challenges of managing a park for both visitor enjoyment and conservation as well as gaining a better understanding of the birds that inhabit these landscapes.

The information gained will aid other land managers (federal, state and private organizations) throughout the Nation.
