Notice of Intent to Single Source Bird Monitoring

This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications.

This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition.

Through this task agreement, SIEN and IBP will conduct the

third year (2013) and prepare for the fourth year (2014) of SIEN-sponsored bird monitoring at SIEN parks, including Yosemite National Park (YOSE), Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (SEKI), and Devils Postpile National Monument (DEPO).

For Year 3 (2013) at these parks, IBP will conduct point counts on up to 30 transects in Panel 1 (the annual panel) and Panel 4 (the third of the alternating panels).

For Year 4 (2014), SIEN and IBP will plan for monitoring of birds along transects in Panel 1 (the annual panel) and Panel 5 (the fourth of the alternating panels).

At DEPO, the sampling design is simpler due to the small size of the park, and all 42 points along a systematic grid are monitored annually.

The position young people are dealt with can be complex, and yet the entire economic system is still focused for an age that’s almost gone astray. The solution? Promoting social enterprise and getting these young people integrated into work.
